SEA VIEW OF CHILDLIKE,
FIBERGLASS, MIRROR, OIL PAINTS
The installation is built around three sections of the exhibition: Nature on Screen, Post-Collective Age, and Transient Space, and seeks to recreate the connection between human and nature, and human and human.
The installation uses the principle of the periscope and a childlike appearance to create a large land-based 'giraffe'. The reflection principle of the mirror is used to get a view of the beach around the trees. The installation also gives visitors an unexpected sense of wonder and visual effect.
We all remember the fun we had as children, making periscopes based on the principle of reflection. What was once an ordinary world became an interesting one. This was often the case with seaside views.
